Job summary

Zillow Group is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer, Back End to design, build and operate scalable backend services powering Zillow’s experiences. You’ll lead complex server-side work, mentor engineers, and collaborate across product, data, and infra teams to support millions of users.

You’ll use Java, Python, NodeJS, and Go with relational and non-relational databases, and leverage AWS services.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software development experience with Java, Python, NodeJS and Go.
• Experience in relational and non-relational databases and API design.
• Fluent in English and Spanish (written and spoken).
• Authorized to work in Mexico and able to travel to Mexico City when required.
• Proven track record as a technical leader influencing multiple teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, delivery and support of backend features end-to-end.
• Review peers' code and advocate standard engineering practices.
• Mentor junior engineers and drive cross-team collaboration.
• Contribute to architecture discussions and system reliability improvements.
• Partner with product, data, and infrastructure teams to scale platforms.
