Job summary

Zillow Group Inc. is seeking a Senior Manager, Software Development Engineering to define the technical strategy and roadmap for one or more teams. You will lead the design, development, and operation of scalable, secure systems and set standards for quality, testing, observability and performance.

You will coach engineering managers and senior engineers, build an inclusive, high-performing culture, and partner with product management to prioritize work and align delivery with business goals.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience.
• 3+ years in a people leadership role (engineering manager or senior engineering manager).
• Proven experience delivering scalable, high-availability apps in a cloud environment.
• Experience mentoring diverse teams and fostering inclusive culture.
• Collaborating with product and cross-functional partners to define roadmaps and ship features.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the technical strategy and roadmap for one or more teams.
• Lead design, development, and operation of scalable, secure systems with quality standards.
• Coach and develop engineering managers and senior engineers to build high-performing teams.
• Partner with Product Management and other stakeholders to prioritize work and balance delivery with platform health.
• Establish and track engineering metrics to guide continuous improvement across domains.
