Job summary

MO is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to support the Department of Veterans Affairs. You will design, develop, and maintain enterprise Java applications using Java 17+, Spring Boot, and related technologies.

You will work on backend services, REST APIs, and database integrations with Oracle and other relational databases, collaborating in an Agile environment while delivering scalable, mission-critical software for government clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 5–8 years of software development experience in professional environment
• Strong hands on experience with Java development
• Hand on experience developing REST APIs and web services
• Experience working with Oracle or other relational databases
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise Java applications
• Analyze and resolve complex software defects and production issues
• Support enhancements and sustainment activities for applications utilizing Java, Spring Framework, Struts, JSP, EJB, JMS, WebLogic, Hibernate, Oracle, and related technologies
• Develop and optimize SQL queries and database integrations
• Contribute to automated testing, CI/CD processes, and application deployments
• Developing and maintaining backend services using Java 17+, Spring Boot, microservices, JPA/Hibernate, and REST APIs.
