MO is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to support the Department of Veterans Affairs, modernizing VA’s enrollment systems and delivering mission-critical software for millions of Veterans and their families. You will work with Next.js, Java 17+, Spring Boot, and enterprise Java technologies to advance scalable solutions and modernize legacy platforms.

You’ll design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise Java applications, collaborate with engineers, optimize SQL, and participate in CI/CD

Qualificações

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 5–8 years of software development experience in professional environment
• Strong hands on experience with Java development
• Hands on experience with Spring Framework and/or Spring Boot
• Hand on experience developing REST APIs and web services
• Experience working with Oracle or other relational databases
• Experience using Git-based source control
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
• Strong verbal communication skills

Responsabilidades

• Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise Java applications
• Analyze and resolve complex software defects and production issues
• Support enhancements for applications using Java, Spring Framework, Struts, JSP, EJB, JMS, WebLogic, Hibernate, Oracle, and related technologies
• Collaborate with architects and senior developers on modernization initiatives
• Develop and optimize SQL queries and database integrations
• Participate in code reviews and mentor junior developers
• Contribute to automated testing, CI/CD processes, and application deployments
