Job summary

Chime is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Membership Experience in San Francisco, CA. You will own projects end-to-end—from architecture and APIs to polished front-end experiences and ongoing reliability of the code.

You’ll collaborate with product, design, data science, and cross-functional partners to define experiments, measure impact, and ship high-quality features that deepen member engagement and retention.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software development in production environments.
• Product-minded with bias toward experimentation and measuring impact.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration and communication skills.
• Experience designing APIs and building backend/frontend services.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and scale features across backend services and front-end surfaces that power membership benefits, rewards, and engagement experiences
• Build and iterate on APIs and UI components that deliver a seamless, high-quality member experience in Chime's mobile app
• Partner with product, design, data science, and cross-functional stakeholders to understand member needs, define experiments, and ship solutions that move key membership metrics
• Apply a metrics-driven mindset to decision-making and prioritize efforts based on member and business impact
• Proactively identify opportunities to improve system reliability, performance, and scalability across the stack
• Contribute to a culture of technical excellence through mentorship, code reviews, and driving best practices
