Job summary

Chime is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for Growth Engineering's Early Stage Experience area. You will shape architecture for high-traffic, member-facing systems and use AI/LLMs to boost productivity and personalize experiences.

This role emphasizes fast experimentation, reliability, and cross-team leadership to move growth outcomes. You will lead technical strategy, collaborate with Product/Design/Analytics, mentor engineers, and represent Chime in external venues.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience.
• Deep understanding of system design and tradeoffs in high-traffic consumer systems.
• Track record of driving measurable business and engineering impact, esp. in growth/activation.
• Experience with experimentation: test design, instrumentation, and analysis.
• Ability to influence direction across teams and lead through influence.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Fintech experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of high-impact, member-facing systems in Growth.
• Set technical vision for scalable, reliable high-traffic systems.
• Drive experimentation strategy and rapid test-iterate cycles.
• Address performance, availability, and conversion reliability across Growth.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, Analytics, and Data to shape direction.
• Mentor engineers and raise engineering bar across teams.
• Represent Chime externally through recruiting, talks, and community engagement.
