Job summary

Chime Engineering is growing and seeking engineers to join the Membership team to own end-to-end projects from architecture to frontend experiences, driving member engagement and retention.

You will design APIs, build UI components, and collaborate across product, design, and data science to ship solutions that move key membership metrics. A strong product mindset and cross-functional collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software development in production
• Proven experience with Ruby on Rails or comparable frameworks
• Proficiency with modern front-end technologies (React, React Native, TypeScript)
• Product mindset with bias toward experimentation and measuring impact
• Collaborative spirit and strong cross-functional communication
• Experience with transactional databases, caching systems, and API design
• Comfort working across the stack and understanding how components fit together
• Experience with experimentation frameworks and data-driven product development a plus

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and scale features across backend services and front-end surfaces for membership experiences
• Build and iterate on APIs and UI components for the mobile app
• Partner with product, design, data science, and stakeholders to understand needs and ship solutions
• Apply a metrics-driven approach to prioritization based on impact
• Improve system reliability, performance, and scalability across the stack
• Mentor others and promote best practices through code reviews
