Job summary

Johnson & Johnson is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for Infrastructure R&D in Boston to develop high‑performance, on‑device medical software that securely connects to cloud for telemetry and control.

You will collaborate with hardware, firmware, QA, and regulatory teams to ensure safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance while delivering scalable software that improves patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/Engineering required; Master’s degree is a plus.
• 5+ years of relevant industry experience.
• Strong proficiency in full‑stack C#/.NET development and CS fundamentals.
• Experience with multi‑threaded/concurrent programming and database I/O.
• Hands‑on experience developing on embedded Windows targets.
• Proven experience building secure connected/IoT edge applications with TLS and certificates.
• SDLC in regulated environments; CI/CD and automated testing.
• Excellent communication and collaboration; ability to travel to Boston.

Responsibilities

• Build production‑grade on‑device apps and services in C#/.NET for Windows targets, integrating with clinical apps and cloud services.
• Develop and optimize SQL queries; design schemas for relational/embedded databases.
• Create concurrent components and services with REST APIs and evolving architectures.
• Design secure device‑to‑cloud connectivity and modern security practices (IoT, TLS, device identities).
• Implement secure coding and cybersecurity practices, including key vault integration and threat modeling.
• Build cloud‑connected backends in Azure or similar environments to support telemetry and fleet operations.
• Drive software quality with unit/integration/system tests, profiling, and CI/CD.
• Contribute to regulatory documentation and traceability; support submissions as needed.
• Collaborate in Agile/Scrum, mentor juniors, and lead code/design reviews.
