Job summary

Johnson & Johnson is hiring an Embedded Software Test Engineer in New Jersey. You will develop and execute manual and automated test plans for embedded software per IEC 62304, partner with hardware and systems teams, and contribute to test automation and CI/CD improvements.

Travel ~5% to customer sites may be required. The role emphasizes collaboration, problem solving, and adherence to the Credo and leadership imperatives as part of the team delivering cardiovascular and other healthcare

Qualifications

• B.S./M.S. in computer science, math, computer engineering, electrical engineering or equivalent.
• 0-2 years of manual and automated testing on embedded platforms with RTOS.
• Experience with Python scripting and Windows shell.
• Designing fixtures and tools for test automation.
• Familiarity with behavior-driven development and automation testing.
• Familiarity with DevOps tools like Jira, Jenkins, Jama, GitLab.
• Willing to travel ~5% to meet customers.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support manual and automated test plans, cases, and scripts for embedded software per IEC 62304.
• Collaborate with embedded software, hardware, and systems engineers to define testing requirements.
• Test and support release software per SOPs.
• Enhance test automation frameworks and CI/CD pipelines for embedded software, firmware, and hardware integration.
• Design and develop test fixtures with cross-functional teams.
• Perform root cause analysis on software failures and drive corrective actions.
• Incorporate Credo and Leadership Imperatives into team goals.
