Job summary

First Citizens Bank is seeking a hands-on Software Engineer to join the Corporate Credit Card delivery team in a remote-capable role, available in AZ, FL, GA, NC and TX. You will design and implement enterprise-grade microservices and mentor developers.

You will drive API design, real-time and file-based integrations, oversee maintenance of critical systems, and collaborate with product owners and business partners to deliver reliable, scalable solutions in a large enterprise banking environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science with 3+ years of experience.
• Strong experience designing or modifying modern microservice-based systems.
• Advanced knowledge of Java 11+ and Spring frameworks.
• Familiar with REST APIs, Unit testing, and mocking frameworks.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Proficient in Git and Postman; knowledge of API testing and tooling.
• Understanding of OO design, design patterns, and architectural styles.
• Experience with Scrum and Agile teams and collaboration with product owners.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop technical solutions meeting user needs for functionality, performance, and scalability.
• Lead multiple tech leads managing SCRUM teams and provide coaching and escalation paths.
• Drive domain-wide changes to improve quality, speed, and throughput.
• Maintain and support IaaS/SaaS and on-prem applications across Digital, Cards, Risk, and Merchant Services.
• Coordinate troubleshooting of defects and data/configuration issues to find root causes.
• Advise on best practices, guidelines, and secure coding standards.
• Develop real-time and file-based integrations and optimize database processing.
