Job summary

State Farm is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to partner with the Enterprise Technology Financial Services team in supporting existing alliances and bringing new opportunities to market.

You will design, develop, and maintain applications using Go, Java, JavaScript, Python, Angular, and Springboot, following DevOps practices and secure coding standards, within a hybrid work model that blends in-office and remote work.

Qualifications

• Software engineering/application development experience.
• Programming: Active development experience in Go, Java, JavaScript, Python, Angular and Springboot.
• Tools: Github, Slack, Jira, Codex, Claude, ChatGPT
• Cloud/Compute: AWS knowledge, familiarity with .NET/Azure or comparable environments.
• Containers/Orchestration: Docker and Kubernetes; ROSA is a plus.
• Security: Secure coding practices and DevSecGitOps awareness.
• Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Leverage modern coding and software engineering practices to design, develop, and maintain applications that meet business needs.
• Analyze customer requirements, manage technology assets, and foster an Agile and DevOps culture.
• Apply architecture guidance (AWS Well-Architected) to improve issue efficiency and effectiveness.
• Provide technical leadership, participate in code reviews, and mentor team members.
• Document and contribute to technical product docs and support articles.
• Ensure secure coding practices and high usability in solutions.
• Collaborate with business and product teams to influence engineering standards.
