Job summary

Elastic, the Search AI Company, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Elasticsearch - Analytical Engine team. This globally distributed, completely remote team builds new analytics capabilities for Elasticsearch’s latest aggregation framework via ES|QL.

You will design and implement features, fix bugs, and collaborate across teams including UI and API developers. A strong Java background and experience with distributed systems are essential.

Qualifications

• Strong Java and concurrency knowledge with standard libraries.
• Experience in software systems engineering.
• Ability to optimize data structures and algorithms for performance.
• Autonomy to own projects from design to delivery.
• Experience collaborating asynchronously over the internet.
• Familiarity with Elasticsearch, Solr, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Cassandra.

Responsibilities

• Build data-intensive new features and fix intriguing bugs in Elasticsearch.
• Collaborate with globally distributed teams on ES|QL analytics APIs and UI.
• Improve Elasticsearch areas based on feedback and data.
