• Proven track record designing high-performance, scalable DB or search engine tech.
• Ability to drive technical initiatives across organizations.
• Strong core Java skills and understanding of concurrency primitives.

Responsibilities

• Lead architectural evolution of core storage engine components and optimize indexing layouts and serialization formats.
• Drive cross-organizational initiatives for observability solutions.
• Collaborate with globally distributed engineers focusing on logs and metrics in Elasticsearch.
• Promote clean coding standards and architectural clarity across the platform.
• Serve as SME and mentor within the engineering org.
• Review issues and PRs with domain experts across teams.
• Write idiomatic modern Java; Elasticsearch is 99.8% Java.
