Job summary

RTX Collins Aerospace seeks a Software Engineer for the Collins Test Solutions Engineering team in Cedar Rapids. The role covers the full program life cycle from pursuit to close-out, serving as a technical leader and program contact.

Responsibilities include designing software for hardware test stations, developing automated tests, and coordinating across engineering disciplines. A Secret clearance and strong STEM background are required.

Qualifications

• Active Secret clearance required prior to start date.
• STEM degree or advanced degree with 5+ years of experience or 8+ years in STEM with related experience.
• Proficient in C# and Python.
• Experience with manual and automated test equipment (oscilloscopes, analyzers, DMMs).
• Experience in validation, verification, testing and requirements analysis.
• Experience leading and managing projects.

Responsibilities

• Design, create, and integrate software components of hardware test stations.
• Develop software for testing military communication hardware during build/manufacturing.
• Analyze requirements to ensure testability.
• Develop clear test objectives for comprehensive coverage.
• Write software for manual and automated tests to detect defects and improve yields.
• Analyze test results for failures and discrepancies.
• Collaborate with test engineers and product developers to verify hardware.
• Coordinate with Systems, Electrical, and Mechanical engineering disciplines.
• Help manage work across multiple programs.
• Mentor and review work for junior engineers.
