Collins Aerospace, RTX, is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to join the Strategic Communication Software Engineering Department in Marlborough, MA. The role involves leading product development across the full lifecycle, from architecture to field support, with a focus on embedded real-time systems.

Candidates must have strong C++ experience, RTOS, Linux knowledge, and a U.S. government security clearance; a STEM degree and significant prior experience are required.

Qualifications

• Experience in Software Engineering across the full software development lifecycle.
• Ability to lead a small engineering team.
• Experience with Software Development Using C++.
• Experience with RTOS, embedded programming, processor/board architecture and design.
• Working knowledge of Linux, VxWorks or other RTOS.
• Experience collaborating with multiple disciplines and stakeholders.
• Active and transferable U.S. government security clearance required.
• U.S. citizenship required for security clearance eligibility.
• Typically requires STEM degree with 8+ years of related experience or advanced degree with 5+ years.

Responsibilities

• Participate on cross-disciplined product teams using agile software development techniques.
• Own full lifecycle of product development from architecture to field support.
• Adhere to the highest software engineering process maturity level recognized by SEI.
