Job summary

Collins Aerospace, an RTX company, seeks a Principal Software Engineer in Cedar Rapids to drive software development for defense platforms. You will design, implement, and test solutions across RF, PNT, and EW domains with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.

Leverage OO design, multithreading, and DevOps practices while delivering high-assurance software. Travel up to 15% and contribute to mission-critical programs for global customers.

Qualifications

• Experience with C++/Java in Linux and embedded software development.
• Embedded HW/SW integration experience.
• Familiarity with SDRs/MFRF, EW, PNT systems.
• 5+ years of relevant experience or 3+ with advanced degree.
• Experience with Agile/SCRUM, DevOps and test automation.
• Strong OO design and multithreading skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and test software for defense systems and platforms.
• Design, code, test, integrate, and document software components.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across engineering and PM.
• Support DevOps practices and software environment improvements.
• Ensure configurations meet cost, schedule and manufacturability targets.
• Travel up to 15% as needed.
