Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Cedar Rapids, IA, seeks a Software Engineer for the Test Solutions Engineering team. You will engage in all phases of the program life cycle, design and test software for hardware test stations, and mentor junior engineers on cross-disciplinary projects.

You will work with test hardware and systems, validating requirements and leading technical efforts while collaborating with multiple engineering domains. Eligible for extensive benefits and on-site work.

Qualifications

• Active and transferable Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
• STEM degree with ≥8 years experience or advanced degree with ≥5 years experience.
• Experience programming in C# and Python.
• Experience with manual or automated test equipment (oscilloscopes, network analyzers, DMMs).
• Experience in validation, verification, testing, and requirements analysis.
• Experience leading and managing projects.

Responsibilities

• Design, create, and integrate software components of hardware test stations for factory and engineering labs.
• Work hands on with test hardware to develop software testing military communication hardware.
• Analyze requirements to ensure testability.
• Develop clear test objectives to guide testing and ensure coverage.
• Write software for manual and automated test cases to detect defects and improve yields.
• Analyze test results for failures and discrepancies.
• Collaborate with Systems, Electrical and Mechanical engineering disciplines.
• Mentor, lead, and review work for lower-level engineers.
