Job summary

U.S. Bank is hiring a software engineering leader to design, develop and maintain scalable, secure cloud-native applications. You will work across teams to translate business needs into robust technical solutions using Java, Spring Boot, React, and modern DevOps practices.

You will mentor engineers, drive architectural decisions, and explore Generative AI, LLMs, and enterprise AI platforms to improve performance and reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• 6–8 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in distributed systems, microservices, RESTful APIs, and SOA.
• Proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, React.js, TypeScript, JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, CSS3.
• Cloud experience with Azure and/or AWS, containerized deployments.
• Hands-on with Kafka, Kubernetes, Rancher, Istio, Apigee, Jenkins/CloudBees, GitLab, CI/CD.
• Strong understanding of software design patterns, resiliency, security, observability, and reliability engineering.
• Experience with automated testing frameworks: Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress, Playwright.
• Knowledge of AI/ML app development incl. Generative AI, LLMs, RAG, Agentic AI, LangChain.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and delivery of scalable, secure, cloud-native enterprise apps.
• Architect and implement microservices, APIs, event-driven systems, distributed apps.
• Develop modern, responsive UIs using React, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3.
• Build and maintain backend services using Java, Spring Boot, Kafka; containerized architectures.
• Collaborate with Product, UX, Architecture, and Engineering to translate requirements into solutions.
• Drive engineering excellence via architecture reviews, code quality, automated testing, CI/CD, and DevOps.
• Mentor engineers, provide technical leadership, influence architectural decisions across teams.
• Evaluate and implement emerging technologies including Generative AI, LLMs, RAG, Agentic AI, and enterprise AI platforms.
