Job summary

U.S. Bank is seeking a senior software engineer to lead the design, development, and maintenance of scalable, cloud-native enterprise applications.

You will work on microservices, APIs, and event-driven systems while delivering responsive UI with React/TypeScript and robust backends with Java/Spring Boot. You will collaborate with Product, UX, Architecture, and Engineering teams to translate requirements into technical solutions, driving CI/CD and DevOps practices, mentoring engineers, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• Six to eight years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and delivery of scalable, secure, cloud‑native enterprise applications.
• Architect and implement microservices, APIs, event‑driven systems, and distributed applications with performance, resiliency, and high availability in mind.
• Develop modern, responsive user experiences using React, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
• Build and maintain backend services using Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, and containerized architectures.
• Partner with Product, UX, Architecture, and Engineering teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Drive engineering excellence through architecture reviews, code quality standards, automated testing, CI/CD, and DevOps best practices.
• Mentor software engineers, provide technical leadership, and influence architectural decisions across delivery teams.
• Evaluate and implement emerging technologies including Generative AI, LLMs, RAG, Agentic AI, and enterprise AI platforms.
