Job summary

U.S. Bank is seeking an experienced software engineer to lead the design, development, and maintenance of scalable, cloud-native applications. You will work with Java, Spring Boot, React, TypeScript, Kafka, and DevOps practices while mentoring teams and guiding architectural decisions.

Ideal candidates have 6–8 years of relevant experience, a bachelor’s degree, and willingness to work on-site at a U.S. Bank location three days per week. Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• Six to eight years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and delivery of scalable, secure, cloud-native enterprise applications.
• Architect and implement microservices, APIs, event-driven systems, and distributed apps.
• Develop modern, responsive user experiences using React, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
• Build and maintain backend services using Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, and containerized architectures.
• Collaborate with Product, UX, Architecture, and Engineering teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Drive engineering excellence via architecture reviews, code quality, automated testing, CI/CD, and DevOps best practices.
• Mentor engineers, provide technical leadership, and influence architectural decisions.
• Evaluate emerging technologies including Generative AI, LLMs, RAG, Agentic AI, and enterprise AI platforms.
