Job summary

U.S. Bank is hiring a senior software engineer to lead design, development, and maintenance of scalable, cloud-native applications. You will build microservices and APIs, develop frontend UIs, and drive DevOps practices across delivery teams.

You will mentor engineers, collaborate with Product and UX, and evaluate emerging AI technologies to enhance customer experiences on secure platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• 6–8 years of relevant software development experience.
• Expertise in distributed systems and microservices.
• Cloud-native apps on Azure and AWS.
• Proficient in Java, Spring Boot, React.js, TypeScript, JavaScript.
• Experience with Kafka, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of AI/ML development including GenAI/LLMs.
• Experience leading Agile and DevOps initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and delivery of scalable, cloud-native enterprise applications.
• Architect and implement microservices, APIs, event-driven systems, and distributed apps.
• Develop frontend using React, TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
• Build backend services with Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, and containerized architectures.
• Collaborate with Product, UX, Architecture, and Engineering teams to translate requirements.
• Advance engineering excellence through architecture reviews, testing, CI/CD, and DevOps.
• Mentor engineers and influence technical direction across delivery teams.
• Evaluate emerging technologies including Generative AI, LLMs, and enterprise AI platforms.
