Job summary

enGen is seeking an experienced software engineer to join an agile team building scalable applications across digital channels. You will own an enterprise-wide technical view and drive architectural decisions using the best stack for the platform.

You will participate in all stages from idea to deployment, using the latest technologies and design patterns, including Claude Code or Google Gemini. Expect collaboration, code reviews, and mentoring across the team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a closely related field.
• Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field (preferred).
• Five years in design/analysis of algorithms, data structures, and patterns for scalable, highly available systems.
• Five years in at least one modern programming language (Java, Python, JavaScript, ACE, IIB/ITX, Informatica) and experience with two of: React, Angular v4+, NodeJS, NoSQL, HTML5, CSS, GCP or AWS.
• Five years of understanding REST/HTTPS/JSON.
• Five years with one or more general purpose languages (Java, Python, Django/Flask, C/C++, C#, JavaScript, Go).
• Five years in defining system architectures and exploring feasibility trade-offs.

Responsibilities

• Design and write engineering specifications and code adhering to standards; perform code reviews.
• Generate ideas, explore technical solutions, and monitor processes for performance and scalability.
• Participate in all scrum ceremonies; assist in sprint planning and execute sprints to deliver software.
• Create and manage story tasks with DoD, acceptance criteria, estimation; track via RTC/Jira.
• Monitor progress against production schedule; report issues to lead developers.
• Mentor junior/intermediate engineers and share knowledge.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
