Job summary

enGen is seeking an agile software engineer to join a team responsible for building scalable software applications across digital channels. The role requires an enterprise-wide architectural view and strong technical execution using the best stack to meet platform needs, including Claude Code or Google Gemini.

You will participate in all stages of the software development lifecycle, mentor juniors, and drive DoD/AC objectives, sprint planning, and code reviews within an agile Scrum environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field.
• Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, and design patterns.
• Experience with REST/HTTP/JSON and web services.
• 5 years in at least one modern programming language (Java, Python, JavaScript, etc.) and familiarity with two or more technologies.
• Experience defining system architectures and evaluating technical trade-offs.

Responsibilities

• Design and write code adhering to standards and perform code reviews.
• Generate ideas and implement technical solutions that achieve product features while ensuring scalability and performance.
• Be part of an agile team and participate in all Scrum ceremonies.
• Drive story creation, DoD, acceptance criteria, estimation; manage tasks in RTC/Jira.
• Monitor progress and report issues to lead developers regularly.
• Mentor other engineers and contribute to their growth.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
