Job summary

enGen is seeking an experienced software engineer to join an agile team building scalable applications across digital channels. You will manage enterprise-wide architecture and drive technical execution using the best-fit stack, including cloud services.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in algorithms, architecture, and modern languages, and a track record of mentoring others while delivering robust software through the full SDLC.

Qualifications

• 5 years in design and analysis of algorithms, data structures, and design patterns for scalable, highly available systems.
• 5 years in at least one modern programming language (Java, Python, JavaScript, ACE, IIB/ITX, Informatica) and experience with React, NodeJS, NoSQL, HTML5, CSS, GCP or AWS.
• 5 years with REST/HTTPS/JSON.
• 5 years in multiple general-purpose languages: Java, Python (Django/Flask), C/C++, C#, JavaScript, or Go.
• 5 years defining system architectures and exploring trade-offs for short-term execution and long-term capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Design and write engineering specifications and code that adheres to coding standards; perform code reviews.
• Generate ideas and implement technical solutions to achieve product features; monitor progress against the project plan.
• Participate in all scrum ceremonies, assist in sprint planning, and complete sprints in development to final execution.
• Drive story creation (DoD, Acceptance Criteria); create tasks in RTC or Jira and update status.
• Monitor progress against production schedule and report issues to lead developers regularly.
• Mentor junior and intermediate software engineers as needed.
• Other duties as assigned or requested.
