Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking engineers to design, develop, and test flight management software for military helicopters and aircraft, integrating FMS capabilities within the Collins Integrated Avionics System. The role emphasizes teamwork, leadership, and timely delivery in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates have 4+ years in software, experience with C/C++/Python/DOORS, and a STEM degree, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) with 5+ years of experience, or advanced degree with 3+ years.
• 4+ years of experience with C, C++, DOORS, ADA and/or Python.
• 4+ years of experience in a software role.
• Industry experience in software lifecycle development (design, requirements, integration, test).
• Pilot/avionics experience (private pilot, aircraft maintenance, DO-178 certification).
• Ability to obtain a DoD security clearance after day 1.

Responsibilities

• Work within a team of Systems and Software engineers to design, develop, and test software features for flight management systems that are integrated into military helicopters and planes
• Master your knowledge of Software Engineering and Flight Management Systems
• Integrate soft skills (leadership, communication, coordination, proactiveness) into a dynamic environment that provides quality and timely products to internal and external customers.
• Travel (domestic and international <10%) as needed.
