Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer for its Military Avionics Flight Management department in Cedar Rapids, IA. The role involves designing, developing, and testing flight management software for military platforms in an AGILE, cross-functional team of engineers.

Requirements include a STEM degree with 5+ years of relevant experience or an advanced degree with 3+ years, plus 4+ years in C, C++, DOORS, ADA, or Python, and 4+ years in a Systems role. Relocation is eligible.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.
• 4+ years of experience with C, C++, DOORS, ADA, and/or Python.
• 4+ years of experience in a Systems role.

Responsibilities

• Work within a team of Systems and Software engineers to design, develop, and test software features for flight management systems that are integrated into military helicopters and planes.
• Master your knowledge of Systems Engineering and Flight Management Systems.
• Integrate soft skills (leadership, communication, coordination, proactiveness) into a dynamic environment that provides quality and timely products to internal and external customers.
