Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, implement, and integrate NAV software for the Collins Flight Management System on commercial transport aircraft. You will work as a seasoned individual contributor, tackling moderately complex problems and supporting certification efforts.

The role emphasizes real-time embedded development in C++, C, Python (and ADA), with involvement in verification, validation, and DO-178C activities.

Qualifications

• Requires degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) with 5+ years experience or an advanced degree with 3+ years experience.
• Real-time embedded software experience is required.
• Proficiency in C++, C, and Python.
• Experience across multiple software lifecycle phases.
• Familiarity with Git, Jira, Confluence, Jama, SVN and CI/CD tools.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, integrate, and maintain NAV software modules for Collins FMS.
• Develop software in ADA, C++, C, and Python following safety-critical standards.
• Analyze system and software requirements, including NAV-to-FMS ICDs.
• Participate in flight-test operations, lab testing, and simulations to evaluate performance.
