Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Software Engineer V to lead the design, development, and modernization of complex software solutions for the DOJ/OJP. You will drive API integrations, automated pipelines, and secure, scalable deployments across production environments.

The role requires six-plus years of software engineering experience, strong DevSecOps practices, and collaboration with government stakeholders. On-site work in Reston, VA is expected, with a focus on performance and reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Engineering, or related technical discipline.
• 6+ years of progressively responsible software engineering experience developing, enhancing, integrating, and maintaining enterprise applications.
• Experience designing and implementing complex application enhancements, APIs, system integrations, and automated tests.
• Experience with Agile software development, DevSecOps, CI/CD, configuration management, and secure software development practices.
• Experience with Git-based source control and one or more CI/CD platforms.
• Experience developing or supporting RESTful APIs, web services, and data integrations.
• Experience with cloud-hosted or containerized applications and automated deployment practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, modernization, integration, testing, deployment, and sustainment of complex software solutions for OJP digital products.
• Analyze production issues and perform root-cause analysis to implement durable fixes.
• Design and implement secure, modular APIs, components, data integrations, and automation to reduce technical debt.
• Provide senior engineering support for API management and integration activities (Okta, SailPoint, DIAMD).
• Lead CI/CD, automated testing, security scanning, and infrastructure as code practices.
• Mentor engineers and promote DevSecOps, automated testing, and secure development practices.
• Prepare and present technical findings and roadmaps to government stakeholders.
