Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Software Engineer V to support DOJ OJP OCIO, modernizing digital products and implementing secure automated software engineering practices across the OJP environment.

The Software Engineer V will lead design, development, APIs, integrations, automation pipelines, and production support while guiding remediation and improved performance. This senior role requires 6+ years in software engineering, strong security-focused practices, and collaboration with government stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a technical field.
• 6+ years of progressively responsible software engineering experience.
• Experience designing APIs, integrations, and automated tests.
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD, DevSecOps, and secure software practices.
• Experience with Git-based version control and automation platforms.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, modernization, integration, testing, deployment and sustainment of complex software solutions.
• Analyze production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement durable corrections.
• Design secure, modular APIs and data integrations to reduce technical debt.
• Provide senior support for API management and DIAMD integrations (Okta, SailPoint).
• Lead CI/CD adoption, security scanning, IaC, and release management practices.
• Mentor engineers and present findings to government stakeholders.
