Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Software Engineer V to support the DOJ/OJP OCIO in modernizing digital products and automating software engineering practices across the environment. The role is a senior hands-on engineer who leads complex API integrations, performance improvements, and secure, automated solutions aligned with architecture and product delivery.

The successful candidate will guide implementation, perform root-cause analysis, and mentor teams while coordinating with security and networking

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related technical discipline or equivalent experience.
6+ years of progressively responsible software engineering experience.
Experience designing and implementing complex enhancements, APIs, and automated tests.
Experience with Agile, DevSecOps, CI/CD, configuration management, and secure software practices.
Experience with Git-based source control and CI/CD/build/deploy platforms.
Experience developing or supporting RESTful APIs, web services, and data integrations.
Experience with cloud-hosted or containerized applications and automated deployment practices.
Ability to troubleshoot complex issues and perform root-cause analysis.
Strong written and verbal communication and collaboration with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Lead design, development, modernization, and sustainment of complex software solutions.
Analyze production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement durable fixes.
Design secure, modular APIs and automated data integrations to reduce tech debt.
Provide senior engineering support for API development and integration activities (Okta, SailPoint, SCIM, OAuth 2.0, SAML).
Lead CI/CD implementation, automated testing, security scanning, and IaC adoption.
Support current-state implementations while guiding future-state solutions to production.
Coordinate with security teams on patching and compliance activities across teams.
Lead code reviews, design reviews, and efforts to reduce technical debt.
Develop measures to improve product health, release readiness, and performance.
