Job summary

VGS is building the trust infrastructure for a new era of commerce. We seek a Senior Software Engineer to design, scale, and fortify global high-throughput payment systems, including Network Tokens, Account Updater, 3DS, and Account Validation.

You will partner with Tech Leads and product teams to deliver reliable, secure, and scalable payments infrastructure. This role emphasizes ownership, experimentation, and AI-native approaches across the SDLC.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering in high-throughput distributed systems.
• Proficiency with Java and microservices design.
• Experience with cloud-native delivery, containers, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Security-focused coding and compliance awareness (PCI-DSS/SOC2).
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build mission-critical payments services with high availability and low latency.
• Integrate AI-native engineering into daily SDLC and tooling.
• Automate resiliency with GitOps and modern CI/CD pipelines.
• Maintain observability with Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry.
• Partner with teams to raise engineering velocity and code quality.
• Own end-to-end service functionality for external traffic and internal adoption.
