AgileEngine is seeking a Software Architect to assess and define a target-state design for an FDA-regulated SaaS product. The role requires 8+ years in senior architectural leadership across PHP, C++, and JavaScript, with deep SOLID/GRASP knowledge and experience in Domain-Driven Design.

You'll lead architecture initiatives, migrate legacy systems, and guide a small multi-language team, while improving CI/CD and ensuring security, auditability, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in lead software architecture roles.
• Strong SOLID and GRASP fundamentals and modern architecture patterns.
• Experience with layered architectures: DDD, Anti-Corruption Layer, Hexagonal, or clean architecture.
• Experience designing SaMD in regulatory-compliant environments.
• Proven API design and data modeling in multi-language systems.
• Experience remediating technical debt and executing large-scale refactoring.
• Background improving CI/CD and secure, auditable private clouds.
• Excellent communication and mentoring of remote teams.
• Ability to work independently with strong prioritization and integrity.

Responsabilités

• Assess current system architecture, data flows, and debt; audit legacy system and clean schemas.
• Define target-state architecture with DDD, clean architecture, and regulatory expectations.
• Design denormalized storage for read-heavy queries with trade-off analysis.
• Develop phased architectural roadmap and refactor legacy components while preserving backward compatibility.
• Establish engineering standards, coding guidelines, and decision-making frameworks.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership to a small mixed-technology team (PHP, C++, JavaScript).
• Improve development workflows, CI/CD, testing procedures, and release processes.
• Mentor and conduct design reviews; create high-quality architectural documentation for future maintenance.
