AgileEngine, LLC. is seeking a Software Architect to assess our platform's architecture and define a target-state design for an FDA-regulated SaaS product.

You will lead architectural decisions across PHP, C++, and JavaScript, while aligning with Domain-Driven Design and clean architecture principles. You will drive the modernization of legacy components, design scalable data pipelines, and mentor a distributed engineering team.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in senior software architecture roles.
• Experience with SaMD (Software as a Medical Device) and FDA-regulated product development.
• Proven ability to modernize legacy systems and drive large-scale refactoring.
• Excellent communication and ability to mentor remote engineering teams.

Responsabilités

• Assess current system architecture, integrations, and data flows to identify debt and scalability constraints.
• Define a target-state architecture aligned with DDD and clean architecture principles.
• Design denormalized storage and data pipelines to support read-heavy workloads.
• Develop a phased architectural roadmap and refactoring strategy while maintaining backward compatibility.
• Establish engineering standards, coding guidelines, and architectural decision records.
• Provide hands-on technical leadership to a mixed-technology team (PHP, C++, JavaScript).
• Improve CI/CD pipelines, testing procedures, and release processes.
