Job summary

AgileEngine, LLC in New York seeks a Software Architect to assess our platform architecture and define a target-state design for an FDA-regulated SaaS product. You will lead the architectural roadmap, establish bounded contexts aligned with Domain-Driven Design and clean architecture, design data flows, and enable scalable integration with external feeds while ensuring regulatory compliance and security.

Qualifications

• Authorization to work for any employer in the US is required and sponsor is not provided.
• Proven success as Lead Software Architect, Principal Engineer, or similar senior technical leader.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals with SOLID and GRASP principles.
• Experience with Domain-Driven Design (DDD), Anti-Corruption Layer, Hexagonal architecture or clean architecture.
• Experience designing SaMD solutions in compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Proven experience designing APIs, data models, and integration layers in multi-language systems.
• Experience identifying/remediating technical debt and large-scale refactoring.
• Background improving CI/CD, security, auditability in private cloud environments.
• Exceptional communication and mentoring abilities for remote teams.
• Ability to work independently with integrity.

Responsibilities

• Assess current system architecture, data flows, and integrations to identify debt and scalability constraints.
• Define a target-state architecture with bounded contexts aligned to DDD and clean architecture; design data extraction pipelines from vendor feeds.
• Design denormalized storage to accelerate read-heavy queries with trade-off analysis.
• Develop a phased architectural roadmap and refactoring plan preserving backward compatibility.
• Establish engineering standards, coding guidelines, and decision frameworks for maintainability.
• Improve development workflows, CI/CD pipelines, testing, and release processes.
• Mentor team members, conduct design reviews, and create architectural documentation.
