AgileEngine, LLC. seeks a Software Architect to assess architecture and define a target-state design for an FDA-regulated SaaS product. You will lead architectural decisions across PHP, C++, and JavaScript, align with DDD and clean architecture, and ensure secure, scalable data pipelines.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience architecting within mixed tech stacks (PHP, C++, JavaScript)
• Strong grounding in SOLID and GRASP principles
• Experience with Domain-Driven Design and clean architecture
• Proven track record delivering SaMD solutions under regulatory requirements
• Experience designing APIs, data models, and integration layers
• Proactive in identifying/remediating technical debt and large-scale refactoring
• Background improving CI/CD, security, auditability, and private cloud deployments
• Excellent written/spoken communication and ability to mentor distributed teams
• Ability to work independently with strong integrity and prioritization
• Upper-intermediate English level

Responsibilities

• Assess current system architecture, integrations, and data flows to identify debt and scalability constraints
• Define target-state architecture with bounded contexts aligned to DDD and clean architecture
• Design denormalized storage and data pipelines that balance performance and redundancy
• Develop phased roadmaps and refactoring plans while preserving backward compatibility
• Establish engineering standards, guidelines, and decision frameworks
• Provide hands-on technical leadership to a mixed-technology team (PHP, C++, JS)
• Improve development workflows, CI/CD pipelines, testing, and release processes
• Mentor team through design reviews and architectural documentation
