Job summary

National Council on Aging, Inc. is seeking a Lead, SNAP to drive policy expertise and technical assistance for nutrition programs, advancing equitable access for older adults.

The role leads planning and training across MIPPA and SNAP initiatives, collaborates with ESSSN and external partners, and informs state and national strategies on SNAP implementation while reporting to senior leadership in Arlington, VA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
• 5–7 years of experience in SNAP, nutrition policy, or related field.
• Strong communication, facilitation, and public‑facing skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 10–15%.

Responsibilities

• Participate in SNAP and nutrition policy meetings and workshops.
• Develop content and deliver TA and capacity-building.
• Coordinate with CEW and MIPPA teams for program guidance.
• Monitor policy developments and share best practices.
• Support grant writing and stakeholder communications.
