Job summary

National Council on Aging seeks a dynamic Lead for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) to guide national policy and program implementation. This role provides technical assistance, capacity building, and strategic guidance to states, grantees, and partners, advancing access to nutrition benefits for older adults.

The Lead will monitor federal and state policy changes, develop resources, and promote evidence-based practices while collaborating with teams across NCOA to improve

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred in health or public policy.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and facilitation skills.
  • Experience engaging diverse stakeholders and presenting to policymakers.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical assistance and capacity building on SNAP and nutrition programs.
  • Develop guidance, toolkits, and policy resources for grantees and states.
  • Coordinate with ESSSN, MIPPA, and state leaders to advance SNAP initiatives.
  • Monitor federal/state SNAP policy developments and communicate impacts.
  • Collaborate to implement national strategies and promote best practices.
  • Lead grant writing support and contribute to reports and publications.
