Job summary

Mathematica, Inc. seeks a Principal to lead advisory services on SNAP policy, federal/state operations, and SNAP E&T, delivering evidence-based guidance to clients.

You will direct multidisciplinary teams, grow the advisory portfolio, and mentor staff while maintaining strong client relationships. Remote-eligible with opportunities to travel domestically. Competitive base salary with discretionary bonus.

Qualifications

• Master's or doctoral degree, or equivalent experience.
• 15+ years in food and nutrition policy with leadership in TA, policy support, or program administration.
• 7+ years in business development with success in federal/state proposals and client relations.
• Strong relationships across SNAP/food assistance/human services sectors.
• Deep SNAP policy/operations expertise including state roles and program performance.
• Experience leading complex advisory engagements and multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent written and oral communication for diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Direct multidisciplinary advisory projects on SNAP policy and operations.
• Advise federal/state clients on policy and implementation challenges.
• Translate policy and data into practical guidance for diverse audiences.
• Lead proposal development, staffing, budgets, and client relationships.
• Mentor staff and advance Mathematica's external thought leadership in SNAP.
