Mathematica, Inc. is seeking a Principal in Advisory Services to lead SNAP policy engagements and advise federal and state clients remotely.

The role requires deep policy expertise, strong leadership, and the ability to guide multidisciplinary teams in delivering evidence-informed solutions across food assistance and related human services. Qualifications

• Master's or doctoral degree, or equivalent experience in public policy, economics, public administration, nutrition, behavioral or social sciences, or a related discipline.
• At least 15 years in food and nutrition policy with 10+ years leading TA, policy support, operations, or policy analysis.
• At least 7 years of business development, with success leading federal/state proposals and client relationships.
• Strong relationships across SNAP, food assistance, and human services fields with collaborators.
• Deep expertise in SNAP policy and operations at federal/state levels.
• Expertise in SNAP E&T policy and operations including workforce, funding, and performance.
• Proven success leading complex technical assistance or policy advisory engagements.
• Excellent written and oral communication for diverse audiences.
• Strong project and organizational management with multitasking ability.
• Experience with USDA Food and Nutrition Administration or state agencies is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Direct multidisciplinary teams on complex projects involving SNAP, SNAP E&T, and related programs.
• Advise federal/state clients on policy and operational challenges and develop practical, innovative solutions.
• Apply rigorous policy, programmatic, and analytic thinking to data to inform policy and operations.
• Author and oversee high-quality project and technical products for policy audiences.
• Develop and mentor staff in SNAP and related policy areas.
• Advance Mathematica's external thought leadership via conferences, webinars, and publications.
• Shape and execute business development strategy in SNAP and related markets, including proposals.
