Job summary

National Council on Aging seeks a Lead for SNAP within the Center for Economic Well-Being to provide technical assistance, build capacity, and offer policy expertise to strengthen access to SNAP for older adults.

The role works with states, grantees, community partners, and NCOA staff to advance strategies that improve nutrition benefit access, develop resources, and support grants and reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; master’s or professional degree preferred.
• Five to seven years of related experience with SNAP, nutrition policy, public benefits, and economic security.
• Knowledge of aging issues and impact of economic insecurity on older adults.
• Strong communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical assistance, training, and resources to MIPPA and SNAP grantees, state leaders, and community partners.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on SNAP and nutrition assistance policy and program implementation.
• Monitor federal and state policy developments and share guidance and practices.
• Collaborate with partners to develop strategies connecting low-income older adults with nutrition benefits.
• Develop resources, reports, presentations, and materials to support SNAP implementation and share lessons learned.
• Support grant proposal development and reporting.
