Job summary

Lockheed Martin in Palmdale, CA is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to develop and implement processes, procedures and layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, and fabrication. You will drive adoption of automation technologies, analyze 3D models, and leverage data to improve efficiency, cost, and quality while aligning with design concepts.

Requires a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, cross-functional manufacturing experience, ability to obtain program access and active Secret

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree required to apply.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment cross functionally with other disciplines including industrial engineering, planning, scheduling, Quality Assurance &/or production operations.
• Experience with manufacturing processes and procedures including: composite fabrication, structural assembly, machining, bonded assemblies &/or installations.
• Ability to obtain special program access within 3 months of start date.
• Active Secret security clearance with an investigation within the last 5 years.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, fabrication, and material handling.
• Drive adoption of new technologies and processes (automation, robotics, CAM software) to achieve efficiency, cost reduction and quality improvement.
• Create and analyze 3D model data to optimize manufacturing processes and digital work instructions.
• Leverage factory data to develop SPC approaches and integrate analytics for continuous improvement.
• Provide input to product design regarding concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
