Job summary

Lockheed Martin Palmdale is seeking a manufacturing engineer to develop and implement processes, layouts, and work instructions for assemblies and equipment installation. You will drive adoption of new technologies and optimize operations through digital data and 3D models.

The role emphasizes collaboration with industrial engineering, planning, and quality assurance to improve efficiency, cost, and quality while ensuring compliance with security requirements. A bachelor’s degree is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required to apply.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment working cross functionally with other disciplines including industrial engineering, planning, scheduling, Quality Assurance &/or production operations.
• Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment in process improvement.
• Ability to obtain and maintain Secret Clearance prior to start per business requirements AND to obtain special program access within 3 months of start date with LM.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, fabrication, and material handling.
• Drive adoption of new technologies and processes (automation, robotics, CAM software) to improve efficiency, cost and quality.
• Create and analyze 3D model data environments to optimize manufacturing processes and digital work instructions.
• Leverage factory data to develop SPC approaches and integrate reporting and data analytics for continuous improvement.
• Provide input to product design regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
