Job summary

JPMorganChase is seeking a Lead Site Reliability Engineer to shape the future of reliability for critical platforms. You will lead resiliency design reviews, mentor engineers, and own major incident response for complex applications within the EPAS program.

You will drive reliability improvements using data-driven analysis, establish SLOs and error budgets with stakeholders, and champion AI-assisted workflows across the SDLC to ensure scalable, secure operations.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on site reliability engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.
• Reliability, scalability, performance, security, enterprise system architecture experience.
• Fluent in at least one programming language such as: Python, Java/Spring Boot, .Net
• Demonstrated experience using enterprise-authorized AI capabilities within the work environment to improve SRE workflows with strong validation habits and awareness of data sensitivity.
• Ability to evaluate AI-assisted operational recommendations for correctness and risk, define guardrails for team usage, and ensure resiliency and security.
• Proficient knowledge and experience in observability such as monitoring, alerting, and telemetry collection.
• Proficient with CI/CD practices and tooling
• Proficient with container orchestration
• Experience with troubleshooting common networking technologies and issues
• Advanced knowledge and self-education to evaluate new technologies

Responsibilities

• Leads resiliency design reviews and break down complex problems for engineers.
• Provides technical lead for medium to large-sized products and mentoring to engineers.
• Leads initiatives to improve reliability and stability using data-driven analytics to improve service levels.
• Identifies service level indicators and collaborates with stakeholders to establish service level objectives and error budgets.
• Uses AI capabilities to accelerate major-incident triage, troubleshooting, and post-incident analysis.
• Acts as main contact during major incidents to quickly resolve issues and minimize financial impact.
• Drives reuse-first adoption of AI-assisted reliability workflows across SDLC/toolchain practices.
• Ensures traceability, auditability, resiliency, and security controls.
