Job summary

JPMorgan Chase is seeking a Lead Site Reliability Engineer within Enterprise Technology, Infrastructure Platforms. The role leads a team, designs resiliency reviews, and mentors engineers while applying AI to SDLC with strict validation for reliability and security.

The candidate will own services end-to-end, drive incident response, and promote AI-assisted workflows across CI/CD, monitoring, and automation, with a focus on reducing toil and improving reliability.

Qualifications

• Formal training in site reliability engineering concepts is required.
• Demonstrated experience using enterprise AI capabilities to improve SRE workflows with validation.
• Ability to evaluate AI-assisted operational recommendations for correctness and risk.
• Strong production software engineering in Python, Go, Java, C++, or Rust.
• Proven ownership of production systems at scale, including on-call and postmortems.
• Experience with SLI/SLO practice and data-driven reliability decisions.
• Deep observability skills: white-box/black-box monitoring and actionable alerts.
• Strong Unix fundamentals and infrastructure automation (Kubernetes, Terraform, CI/CD).
• Systems thinking and secure, scalable design across services.
• Security-first mindset with calm decision-making during high-severity events.

Responsibilities

• Build reliability into the platform with production-grade software and tooling to reduce manual ops.
• Use declarative systems to reconcile state via automation and trusted data sources.
• Instrument telemetry at scale and drive detection, diagnosis, and remediation.
• Define SLIs/SLOs and operationalize them with alerting tied to user impact.
• Own services end-to-end including on-call and incident response; drive toil reduction.
• Leverage enterprise AI capabilities to accelerate incident triage and post-incident analysis.
• Lead adoption of AI-assisted reliability workflows ensuring traceability, resiliency, and security.
