Job summary

Layton Construction is seeking a Senior Superintendent to oversee daily site operations, scheduling, and procurement for a complex construction project. You will supervise direct labor, coordinate with the Project Manager, and manage subcontractor activities to ensure timely completion.

The role requires strong leadership, scheduling, procurement, and communication skills, with a focus on safety, quality, and cost control on a healthcare-construction oriented project.

Qualifications

• Plans procedures and staffing based on specs and equipment availability.
• Develops and uses look-ahead schedules with Project Manager.
• Directs procurement of tools and materials to meet schedules.
• Ensures all parties are informed of construction issues and progress.
• Manages labor costs through crew assignments and inter-project staffing.
• Supports PM in preparing the Project Management Plan.
• Ensures safety, quality, and housekeeping standards.

Responsibilities

• Study specs to plan procedures and staffing for each phase.
• Coordinate with Project Manager on the project schedule and look aheads.
• Direct procurement of tools and materials to match schedules.
• Meet with subs and craft personnel to review scope and schedule.
• Inspect work to ensure conformance to specs and schedules.
• Move personnel between projects to optimize labor costs.
• Support PM in developing the Project Management Plan.
• Ensure safety and company policies are followed.
