Job summary

Layton Construction seeks a Superintendent to manage daily job-site operations, scheduling, and procurement of materials, manpower, and equipment. You will supervise direct labor and coordinate with subcontractors to ensure on-time project completion.

You will work closely with the Project Manager, lead pre-construction activities, and ensure safety, quality, and compliance with plans. A strong background in construction processes and leadership is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction and at least 5 years commercial construction experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of construction processes.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites.
• Reads blueprints accurately and understands subcontractors' scopes of work.
• Strong written and verbal communication; basic Spanish preferred.
• Good administrative and management skills; follows company policies.

Responsibilities

• Studies specifications to plan procedures for construction based on times and staffing requirements.
• Coordinates pre-construction meetings and procurement to meet schedules.
• Directs procurement of tools and materials to align with work orders.
• Inspects progress to ensure conformity with specs and schedules.
• Manages project resources and adjusts schedules to control costs.
