Job summary

Layton Construction is seeking a Construction Superintendent to oversee multifaceted commercial projects from planning through execution. You will collaborate with the Project Manager to develop schedules, coordinate pre-construction activities, and direct procurement to align with milestones.

You will supervise crews, review subcontractor scopes, and ensure safety, quality, and on-time delivery across multiple phases. Strong communication and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction field and 5 years commercial construction experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of construction processes.
• Has a valid driver's license and is able to travel to project sites.
• Reads blueprints accurately and understands subcontractors' scopes.

Responsibilities

• Plan construction procedures based on schedules, staffing, and available tools.
• Develop and use look-ahead schedules with the Project Manager.
• Coordinate pre-construction and subcontractor meetings and reviews.
• Direct procurement of tools and materials to match work schedules.
• Inspect progress and ensure conformance to specifications and schedules.
• Manage labor costs by optimizing crew mixes and assignments.
• Ensure policies, safety, and quality standards are applied consistently.
