Job summary

Woolpert in Columbia, SC is seeking a Site Civil Engineer (PE) to join our Land Development team. The role focuses on plan production, design calculations, mentoring staff, and delivering site layouts, utilities, stormwater, and erosion control for diverse projects.

The position requires a Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering, a PE license, and 7+ years of related experience, with proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D and AutoCAD. Some travel may be required and Visa sponsorship is not offered.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
Minimum 7 years related experience in site/civil land development.
Proficiency with Autodesk Civil 3D and AutoCAD.
Experience with hydrology/hydraulics is preferred.
Strong client service, communication, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

Design and produce site layout plans per client specs and Woolpert standards.
Develop concept and grading plans using Civil 3D.
Lead site/civil design, hydrology/hydraulics, erosion and sediment control, and stormwater management.
Coordinate permitting with counties and municipalities; local experience a plus.
Multi-task, prioritize, and deliver tasks on schedule.
Travel as needed and support project teams.
