Job summary

THOR Solutions, LLC in San Diego, CA is seeking an Engineering Technician V (Diesels) to support U.S. Navy shipboard auxiliary equipment at SWRMC. You will troubleshoot and maintain diesel systems aboard ships and at maintenance facilities, helping ensure mission readiness.

Eligible candidates will train Ship's Force, perform inspections, and provide on-site support with occasional travel. This role requires a Secret clearance or ability to obtain one; U.S. citizens only.

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED required; 3–5 years in naval diesel operation and maintenance.
• Experience with Main Propulsion Diesel Engines and related systems.
• Ability to use MS Office for reports and data transfer.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide full-time onsite and surge support for Code 264 equipment.
• Perform diesel engine inspections, FPAs, and readiness checks per Navy references.
• Conduct assessments and repairs to the extent possible within time constraints.
• Provide onboard maintenance training to Ship's Force technicians.
• Analyze inspection data and recommend corrective actions.
• Report findings to Team Leader within two working days.
