Job summary

THOR Solutions, LLC is seeking an Engineering Technician VI (Steam) to provide full-time on-site support for U.S. Navy shipboard auxiliary systems at SWRMC in San Diego, CA.

You will work with Navy personnel aboard ships and at maintenance facilities to troubleshoot, maintain, and assess steam-related equipment, and train Ship’s Force for greater self-sufficiency and readiness. The role requires extensive hands-on steam-system experience, lube oil and fuel oil systems, electrical systems, and

Qualifications

• Ten (10) years of experience in operation, repair, maintenance and assessment of U.S. Naval steam systems and related support systems.
• Ability to utilize computers including the Microsoft Office Suite for reports and history files.
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally.

Responsibilities

• Provide Full-Time Onsite Support and Surge Support for Code 266 equipment.
• Conduct assessments, inspections, and grooms to determine equipment condition and settings; observe operation and collect data for evaluation.
• Provide onboard maintenance training (OBMT) to Ship’s Force technicians in operation, repair, and maintenance of steam systems and related tasks.
• Analyze inspection data to determine fault sources and recommend repair or corrective actions.
• Report findings via MAF, Prisms/ETC, TAAS-Info, or TAVR within two working days after task completion.
